The Environmental Law Section provides a forum for members interested in any aspects of environmental law to meet and to discuss ideas. The Section always meets at the annual conference and occasionally has held an additional meeting at another time of year. The range of topics covered at our meetings spreads across the whole range of domestic, EC and international environmental issues, from detailed regulatory matters to major conceptual debates, and sessions are organised to ensure that there is always plenty of time for discussion. At past conferences we have held joint sessions with the Public Law, Tort, Tax and Property & Trusts Sections and as well academics from all over the UK and Ireland and from Spain, the USA, Australia and New Zealand, we have heard speakers from private practice, government and regulatory bodies talking about their experience of putting environmental law into practice. We have also had a session with the Law Commission to discuss current environmental projects.
