Call for papers on EU and Competition Law for the 2013 Society of Legal Scholars Annual Conference.

SLS EU Law and Competition Law Section – Call for Papers 2013

Dear colleagues,

I am delighted to issue the Call for Papers for the EU and Competition Law Section at the Society of Legal Scholars’ Annual Conference 2013. The conference will run from 3rd to 6th September 2013 at the University of Edinburgh. This year the EU and Competition Law Section is in Group A, being held on 3rd and 4th September. Papers on any aspect of EU and Competition law are welcome, the conference theme, "Britain and Ireland in Europe, Europe in Britain and Ireland” this year is particularly suited for our section.

The sessions are friendly, informative and constructive. We encourage submissions from research students and early career academics as well as established academics.

The conference organisers would like to have the basic programme by the middle of March. If you wish to offer a paper please send me a provisional title and a brief outline, by Monday 4th March.  If your paper is accepted a formal title and abstract will be needed by the end of July.  You do not have to provide a full text but speakers are encouraged to submit a written paper to the paper bank which will be accessible to conference participants. Papers in the paper bank by the deadline will also be considered for the Best Paper prize.  Further details can be found on the SLS website (

If you are offering more than one paper at the conference, please let me know to enable better planning and avoid clashes.

I have been asked to remind you that speakers have to register and pay the appropriate fees for the conference.

If you wish to offer a paper, please send your abstract to by Monday, 4th March. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best wishes

Annette Nordhausen Scholes
