Call for papers on P,P,and Ethics for the 2013 Society of Legal Scholars Annual Conference.

Dear Colleagues,

I am very pleased to invite contributions to the annual Society of Legal Scholars conference which will be taking place this year from Tuesday 3rd to Friday 6th September 2013 at the University of Edinburgh. The Practice, Profession and Ethics section is in Group B this year and will take place on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th September. The theme of the conference this year is “Britain and Ireland in Europe: Europe in Britain and Ireland” (for further details see, and I welcome contributions relating to any aspect of this theme but this is not a requirement for acceptance. Contributions are welcomed from all colleagues at any stage of their career including practitioners, research students, early career academics as well as senior colleagues. There will be four sessions available at the conference for this section. If you would like to propose a possible panel session for the conference, please contact me.

If you wish to present a paper, please provide a title and brief abstract to me at by the 4th March 2013. A full title and a final version of the accepted abstracts will be required by 31st July when the conference programme takes shape. A full paper is optional and will be eligible for the Best Paper Prize at the conference and the details of that can be found at The deadline for submission of the full paper to the paperbank is 5pm on Monday 26th August to be eligible for the prize. Full papers should not exceed 10,000.

If you are planning on submitting to another section, please inform me so that I can liaise with fellow convenors to avoid clashes.

I have been asked to remind you that all speakers, convenors and delegates have to register and pay for the conference and booking will open in late May.
